My husband and I have visited your beautiful island many times over the years and continue to enjoy the local color and culture. We've always been impressed by the amount of talent presented everywhere we go.
In London, we have been fortunate enough to see the musical "Chicago" and in Boston to attend the Boston Pops when Marvin Hamlish was the guest orchestra leader. We have attended the musical "Mama Mia" and "Lord of the Dance" in Las Vegas. I've enjoyed touring productions of "Cats" and "The King of Siam" at the Perot Theater in Texarkana, Texas, "Hello Dolly" and "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina" in Houston. I feel confident in my assessment of a performance.
When looking for something "new" to do, we decided to attend the Baldwin High School performance of "Guys and Dolls." Dale and I both were impressed by the talent that each of these kids presented and attribute that to their teachers and the community they have grown up in.
Jena Miller's performance was outstanding as Miss Adelaide, as was Edmund Pfleegor's in the role of her reluctant husband to be. Each of these kids deserve a standing ovation for their performances and I would like to say "thank you" for giving us a very pleasant surprise on our vacation this year.
One suggestion: Remind the guests to bring a cushion. The Baldwin Auditorium, while comfortable, has very uninviting seats.
Good luck to all these wonderful young men and women as they aspire to whatever careers they choose. The music was uplifting and the evening a delight. Thanks again!
