McDonald’s Hawaii awards scholarship to Maui worker

HONOLULU - A student employee at the McDonald's in the Wailuku Town Center was awarded a $2,500 college scholarship from McDonald's Restaurants of Hawaii.

Shiela Maureen Galapon, a senior at Baldwin High School, will attend Maui Community College.

Galapon was among 10 students statewide to win scholarships, which were awarded based on academic achievement, community involvement and on-the-job performance.

Sheila Maureen Galapon received a $2,500 scholarship from McDonald’s Restaurants of Hawaii. She is shown with Grelyn Rosario of Golden Arches Merchants Association and Veronica Kaneko of McDonald’s Restaurants of Hawaii.

Since 1995, McDonald's Restaurants of Hawaii has awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships.
