Director of Sea Vision Foundation, 83, dies
Lassen’s son is well-known marine artistWAILUKU - Carol L. Lassen, the director of Sea Vision Foundation and the Lassen Aloha Fund, has died. She was 83.
Lassen, a Paia resident and mother of marine artist Christian Riese Lassen, died on May 30, 2009, at Maui Memorial Medical Center.
As head of her son's foundations, Ms. Lassen donated to organizations such as the Maui Food Bank, Paia Youth & Culture Center, A Keiki's Dream, Aloha House, Clean Ocean Action Earth Trust, Pacific Whale Foundation, the Maui Aids Foundation and organizations that supported those with terminal illnesses.
She also spent numerous hours working in a prison ministry.
