HONOLULU --- Maui's Tanner Hendrickson, Imaikalani Devault and Ian Gentil each qualified for today's finals of the Hard Rock Cafe State Surfing Championships at Ala Moana Bowls.
Hendrickson won his semifinal heat in the open men division Friday, when waves topped out at two feet.
Other open men's finalists are Oahu's Richard Tom, Scott Shimoda, Thomas Spear and Kylen Yamakawa and Christian Enns of the Big Island.
Gentil won his semifinal heat to earn a spot in the boys final. Also in the final are Landon McNamara and Lahiki Minamishin of Oahu, and Kauai's Kaikea Elias.
In the menehune division, Devault qualified for the final by finishing second in his semifinal heat. The final also includes Oahu's Kalani David and Dax McGill, and Kauai's Lucas Angulo.
Top finishers in each of the divisions will qualify for the Surfing America Championships, Aug. 25-30 at Huntington Beach, Calif.
In an all-Oahu affair, the junior men final will comprise Kainoa Haas, Micah Moniz, Ezekiel Lau and Ha'a Aikau.
Kauai's Erica Steiner and Nage Melamed and Oahu's Mahina Maeda and Hana Harrison qualified for the girls final.
