Firefighters get into some tight spots

Maui firefighter Tim O'Connor emerges from a manhole with the help of fellow firefighter Ross Ohigashi while participating in a confined space rescue training program Friday morning in Wailuku.

They were two of 12 firefighters in the class, which teaches rescue and recovery in confined spaces.

The students were also joined in the drill by other firefighters as well as instructors of the class.

Friday marked the completion of 40 hours of training.
