SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The Maui United 94 girls under-15 team continued to roll at the U.S. Club Soccer San Bernardino Regional with its second straight 5-1 win Sunday, this time over Crescenta Valley, Calif.
The MUSC 94 girls are 2-0-0 in their pool and can advance to Tuesday's final with a win today against 0-2-0 Fusion 93, which has been outscored 12-0.
MUSC 94 led 1-0 at halftime on Amber-Lei Madriaga's goal in the in 17th minute. Kenna Green scored in the 42nd minute to make it 2-0. Crescenta Valley scored on a penalty kick in the 45th to make it 2-1. MUSC 94 then put it away with three goals in six minutes. Maya Palaroan scored in the 57th, and Makana Pundyke scored in the 60th and 63rd minutes.
A win in the final would send the MUSC 94 girls to the U.S. Club Soccer National Tournament, July 31-Aug. 3 in Virginia Beach, Va.
Also Sunday, the MUSC boys under-15 team (1-1-0) defeated Penya Barcelona Academy 2-1, and the MUSC under-12 boys (0-2-0) lost 3-1 to Santa Monica United.
