Azeka, who said she has sold hats to Oprah Winfrey and Ozzy Osbourne, has perfected the craft over the last 20 years. She said she was excited to take part in Paia Fest. "I love Paia town. . . . It's just a cool town," she said.
SECOND PHOTO: Satya Douglas, owner of Mandala Ethnic Arts, helps display handmade crochet hats, tops and bikinis for a sidewalk sale outside her store on Baldwin Avenue.
THIRD PHOTO: Musician Eric Dotterer brings a little island flavor to the ukulele brunch at Jacques bistro Sunday afternoon. Dotterer, who was one of many local artists who came out to perform at Paia Fest, played a mix of local favorites as well as classic love songs. The event celebrated art, music and fashion in the north shore town. In addition, it was a benefit for Maui Food Bank, the Maui Dharma Center, the Maui Breast Cancer Fund and Mana'o Radio.
