Man's body recovered below Kahakuloa cliff
WAILUKU - A man's body was recovered Wednesday from rocks below a cliff in Kahakuloa, police said.
Police were working to identify the body, which was spotted about noon.
The body was in an area where police found a pickup truck belonging to a 57-year-old Lahaina man who was reported missing after he didn't return home Sunday evening.

Reported robbery under investigation
LAHAINA - Police are investigating a robbery reported Tuesday night by a woman who was walking on Luakini Street in Lahaina.
She was in the 700 block and walking home when someone shoved her and grabbed her backpack, police said.

Anti-tax group to hold 'freedom rally' Saturday
KIHEI - An anti-tax group will hold a July Fourth tea party from 1 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Kamaole Beach Park III.
Admission is free to what is described as a "freedom rally" and a peaceful demonstration and celebration of Independence Day.

Excite Camp application deadline extended
KIHEI - The application deadline for the annual Excite Camp has been extended to Tuesday.
Sponsored by the Maui Economic Development Board's Women in Technology project, the camp gives intermediate school girls a chance to engage in various hands-on engineering activities to expose them to science and technology fields.
The camp, set for July 21 to 24, will include a tour of the telescopes atop Haleakala and visits to high-technology companies at the Maui Research and Technology Park.

Makawao association to meet Tuesday
MAKAWAO - The Makawao Main Street Association will hold a town meeting from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Makawao School cafeteria to present updates on projects in and around Makawao.
These include proposals for 1170 Makawao Ave., Haole Enterprise, Piiholo South LLC and the Barto project.
The agenda also includes an update on the county General Plan; the status of the A&B Properties and Maui Land & Pineapple proposal for Haliimaile; and a review of the Makawao Safety, Restoration and Beautification Plan for Baldwin Avenue.
