For 10 years now, Simply Healthy Cafe at the J. Walter Cameron Center in Wailuku has served the public a host of healthy lunches from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Mondays to Fridays.
Its menu is not only diabetic friendly, but it's high in fiber, low in salt, sugar and fat and seasoned with fresh herbs under the expert guidance of Chef Joe Wilkinson.
Last week, Simply Healthy Cafe launched its new breakfast hours, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. weekdays and the price is right.

Simply Healthy Cafe’s Manager Regina Bahn pours Maui coffee that is brewed fresh every weekday during the new breakfast.
"A lot of people have been asking for us to start serving breakfast in the last 10 years," says Manager Regina Bahn. "It's still a trial. It's pretty good and people are giving comments."
Right now, every breakfast item is $2 or under and you may choose oatmeal with raisins, yogurt parfait, half papaya with lemon, fruit bowl and whole wheat toast as entrees.
"We're thinking about adding egg beaters and turkey-bacon wraps," says Bahn.
Simply Healthy Cafe is under the umbrella of Hui No Ke Ola Pono, an organization designed to improve the health status of all Native Hawaiians by empowering the present and future generations to be their own health advocates.
But everyone is welcome to come. Lunch items to be served Friday include spinach chicken and veggie lasagna. Call 442-6815.
