Fukino to perform Thursday at museum

LAHAINA - Reiko Fukino will perform on the lawn of the Baldwin Home Museum from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

The performer of Hawaiian and contemporary music will appear at the Lahaina Restoration Foundation's Kanikapila With Poki event. "Braddah Poki" of Pacific Radio Group serves as host of the free concert.

Fukino has performed at island hotels and restaurants and has been a backup singer for local artists. In 1999, she released her first CD titled "Timeless Classics of Hawaii." In 2008, she was the music judge for Na Mele O Maui song competition.

While she performs, the lei ladies of the Lahaina-Honolua Senior Citizens Club will string fresh flower lei under the shade of the kou trees on the Baldwin Home Museum lawn. The museum is located on the corner of Front and Dickenson streets.

Kanakapila With Poki - the Hawaiian Music Series in Lahaina is coordinated by the Lahaina Restoration Foundation, and is sponsored by the county Office of Economic Development and the Hawaii Tourism Authority.
