Bodyboarder Scott Sugar of Maui takes a moment to stretch out before charging the waves at D.T. Fleming Beach Park on Sunday morning. Sugar was among a handful of water enthusiasts who were not deterred by the gray skies and soggy conditions in the area. “Once you’re wet, you’re wet,” Sugar said with a smile. The National Weather Service says the cloudy skies will linger today, but the next several days should be fine and sunny. Rainfall amounts varied from zero to more than an inch at West Wailuaiki in East Maui, but the rain mostly missed Molokai, Lanai and Kahoolawe.
