SECOND PHOTO: Nearby, a vibrant rainbow stretches across the sky. The National Weather Service forecast calls for continuing isolated and scattered showers through Friday. Heavy rain fell on Puu Kukui but most lower elevations were little more than dampened, and leeward areas, including Molokai and Lanai, were dry. A high-surf advisory for east-facing shores of Maui and Molokai was continued until 6 p.m. Wednesday.
