Christian Science holiday service set
KAHULUI - The First Church of Christ, Scientist will hold a Thanksgiving service at 10 a.m. Thursday.
The service will include hymns of praise and testimonies of gratitude from the congregation, and readings from the Bible and "Science and Health With Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, founder of Christian Science.
The Christian Science church has offered a Thanksgiving service on Maui for more than 50 years. The church is located at 160 W. Kamehameha Ave., across the street from the Kahului Public Library.

Kumulani Chapel offers free dinner
KAPALUA - For the 27th year, Kumulani Chapel will provide a Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday.
To celebrate a year of blessings, a dinner with Hawaiian entertainment will be provided from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hale Hokulani, the Barn, on Office Road.
The free meal is offered to show gratitude to all island residents and visiting guests. It will be served family style by members of Kumulani Chapel. For more information, call the chapel at 669-6905.

Service, brunch on tap in Kahului
KAHULUI - Maui Evangelical Church in Kahului will celebrate Thanksgiving on Sunday with an 8 a.m. service, followed by a fellowship brunch prepared by members.
The church choir, directed by Pam Petersen, will present two Thanksgiving anthems, and a special rendition will be performed by the newly organized Christian Hula Dance Group led by Joseph Gabin and Bella Thompson.

Thanksgiving event set at Keawala'i
WAILUKU - Keawala'i Congregational Church will hold its annual Thanksgiving Day service and potluck luncheon Thursday.
The service will begin at 11 a.m. in the church sanctuary. Lunch will follow at noon. Turkey and trimmings will be provided, and members and visitors are invited to bring a side dish to share. A sign-up sheet will be posted at the greeters table throughout November. Drinks, plates, napkins and utensils will be provided.
The church also will offer its Advent service at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 29, featuring anthems, hymns and songs by Na Leo Nahenahe choir.

'Priest for Life' figure will speak
LAHAINA - Father Peter West from "Priest for Life" will speak at a number of pro-life events at Maria Lanakila Church.
West will speak at 5:30 p.m. Mass on Nov. 28; all Sunday Masses and a pro-life workshop from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 29; a retreat from 7 to 8 p.m. Nov. 30 and Dec. 1; and from 6 to 7 p.m. Dec. 2.

Special service among Kihei events
KIHEI - Kihei Lutheran Church will offer a special Thanksgiving Day worship service at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
The service will include Holy Communion as well as a performance by a men's quartet. At noon there will be a Thanksgiving potluck luau.
It will be followed by a 1:30 p.m. decorating of the worship area for the Advent/Christmas season.

Thanksgiving service is Sunday
WAILUKU - Wailuku Union Church's Thanksgiving service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday.
The service will include expressions of thanksgiving from members. A thanksgiving potluck will follow in Dodge Hall.
