HIGH-SURF ADVISORY ISSUED FOR NORTH-FACING SHORES
WAILUKU - The National Weather Service has issued a high-surf advisory for the north-facing shores of Molokai and Maui through 6 a.m. Tuesday.
A strong storm over the north Pacific several days ago generated a large northwest swell expected to arrive this morning and continue for several days. Surf on Kauai, Niihau and Oahu was expected to rise to 12 to 18 feet this morning, with the swell moving on to Molokai and Maui later today.
Beachgoers should stay out of the water and away from hazardous shore break, according to the weather service.
