The Maui Film Festival's first wave of FirstLight screenings conclude Friday at Castle Theater at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.
George Clooney's romantic dramedy "Up in the Air," a likely Academy Award contender co-starring Vera Farmiga, Anna Kendrick and Jason Bateman and directed by "Juno's" Jason Reitman, concludes the Thanksgiving week showings with a 7:30 p.m. screening Friday. The film is set for wide national release Christmas day.
Earlier Friday, FirstLight screens "Julie & Julia" starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams at 2 p.m. and presents the Maui premiere of "The Lovely Bones," directed by Peter Jackson and starring Saorise Ronan, Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz, Susan Sarandon and Stanley Tucci at 5 p.m.
