HONOLULU (AP) - Residents in the University of Hawaii at Manoa student housing facilities are being warned about a series of burglaries.
A spokesman for the university said school officials sent an e-mail alert to students and staff members after four burglaries were reported last week. The latest break-ins have come after a rash of burglaries were reported in October.
UH spokesman Gregg Takayama said burglars have been targeting walk-up apartments with easily accessible windows. He said the burglars have been removing window screens, reaching in and taking items off the desks at night while students are asleep.
In some cases, iPods and laptops were stolen.
