KAHULUI - Michael M. Kaiser, president of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, brings his "Arts in Crisis" national tour to the Maui Arts & Cultural Center today.
He will be interviewed in the MACC's McCoy Studio Theater by Teri Freitas Gorman, the MACC's executive vice president for external affairs. The presentation from 10 to 11:30 a.m. will focus on challenges facing nonprofit arts organizations in board and audience development, as well as marketing and budgeting.
President of Washington, D.C.'s Kennedy Center since 2001, Kaiser's book, "The Art of the Turnaround: Creating and Maintaining Healthy Arts Organizations," was released last year.
