All children given toys at Imua holiday party

December 23, 2009
The Maui News

Idalia Sato and Jacob Gamble play with toys during Imua Family Services' annual Children's Holiday Party on Dec. 16 at the Velma McWayne Santos Community Center in Wailuku. More than 400 children and their families took part in the event, and each child received a toy from Santa. The gifts were donated by TS Restaurants' Kimo's, Leilani's on the Beach and Hula Grill; The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua; the Lokahi Project; Toys for Tots and the Hawaii Operating Engineers.

Families enjoyed a turkey dinner provided by Chef Ralph Giles and catering from Soup to Nuts. Kula Botanical Gardens and Keokeo Farms donated the Christmas trees, and Haleakala Waldorf School's 6th-grade class donated the poinsettias. Holding one of the Christmas trees is Ethan Abihai-Phillips.
