Austin Hotta and Nathania Verzosa are engaged to be married in a ceremony Dec. 27, 2009, at Kalama Park in Kihei.
A reception will follow at Kula Community Center.
The groom-to-be is the son of Marilyn Hotta of Paia.

He recently completed his Army National Guard Advanced Individual Training and will be deployed to Afghanistan following the wedding.
Verzosa is the daughter of April and Shawn Parker of Kula.
She graduated from Maui Community College's Culinary Arts Program and is working in the food service industry.
