MAKAWAO - Makawao Union Church will install the Rev. David F. Schlicher at 3 p.m. Sunday as pastor and teacher.
A light reception will follow the special worship service. All are welcome to attend.
Schlicher comes from Fresno, Calif., where he served as pastor of College Community Congregational Church United Church of Christ.
Previously, he served congregations in Colorado and Maryland, as well as the Church of the Pacific (United Church of Christ) in Princeville, Kauai.
An ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, Schlicher will be installed with the cooperation of the Tri-Isle Association of the Hawaii Conference of the United Church of Christ.
Makawao Union Church is an interdenominational congregation located at 1445 Baldwin Ave.
