Council to continue discussion of Maui Island Plan on Friday
WAILUKU - The Maui County Council's Planning Committee will continue discussion Friday on the Maui Island Plan.
The committee met Tuesday to discuss the "Heritage Resources" chapter of the plan. Committee members agreed to recess the meeting until 1:30 p.m. Friday, when they plan to move on to discuss the "Natural Hazards" chapter, and possibly start review of the "Economic Development" chapter.
The County Council has until October to approve the plan, and Planning Committee Chairman Sol Kaho'ohalahala said he was pushing to keep the review on schedule.
"Time is ticking," he said.
