Kihei shows it knows how to party

Pacific Whale Foundation said the Whale Day Celebration drew the largest crowd of people in its 30-year history to Kalama Park on Saturday.

"It's beyond expectations," said foundation Executive Director Greg Kaufman.

"We had 15,000 last year, and we have exceeded that by far. We think maybe 20,000. It's Kihei's party."
