WAIKAPU - An informational evening will be held at 7:30 p.m. March 29 at a Waikapu home about a Worldwide Marriage Encounter series in late summer.
Worldwide Marriage Encounter's mission is to renew the church and change the world by assisting couples and priests to have fully intimate and responsible relationships. The Encounter program achieves the latter by providing participants with a Catholic experience and ongoing community support of such a lifestyle.
The late-summer series will be held from Aug. 20 to 22 at Christ the King Church in Kahului. Unlike recent Marriage Encounter weekends, the August series will allow couples to return home each night instead of staying at a hotel.
The experience will offer couples a chance to enhance their communication skills and build stronger relationships between husband and wife.
For more information and directions for the March 29 gathering, call Rocky and Rosie Johnson at 385-8049 or 385-9408.
Marriage Encounter has scheduled weekends May 21-23 and Oct. 15-17 at St. Stephen's Diocesan Center on Oahu.
Weekend-registration couples are Ray and Anne Matasci on Maui at 875-5517, or Ricky and Jo Ann Viernes on Oahu at (808) 393-2396.
