King Kekaulike grad on reality TV show

WAILUKU - Maui native Akoni Clubb is one of 13 bachelors competing for the hearts of the three feisty stars of the Oxygen network's reality series "Bad Girls Club" in a spinoff to the series that premieres tonight.

Clubb, 23, was raised in Makawao and graduated from King Kekaulike High School in 2003 before moving to Southern California to pursue a media career. He is a former Playgirl centerfold and has appeared on MTV's "Next" and "Parental Control." He also worked as a county lifeguard on Maui and is now pursuing a career in radiology on Oahu.

Network publicity for the show highlights his "good looks, Hawaiian accent and laid-back vibe.

Akoni Clubb is a contestant on Oxygen network’s “Love Games: Bad Girls Need Love Too,” which premieres tonight.

"His passion for music, singing and strumming tunes on his ukulele, has also helped him win over the hearts of the women vacationing on the island," the release adds.

The new dating show, titled "Love Games: Bad Girls Need Love Too," will show at 8 and 10 tonight on Channels 62 and 558. It comes in the middle of a "Bad Girls Club" marathon beginning at 4 p.m.
