KAHULUI - Organizers seek sponsors and participants for the More Fish in the Sea - An Ocean Awareness Festival on April 3. The second annual event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the lawn and beach adjacent to Cary & Eddie's Hideaway Restaurant in Kahului.
The free festival seeks companies, community groups and organizations engaged actively in assisting with the recovery of the health of the ocean. Those groups can apply for honorary sponsorship. Deadline to sign up is Saturday.
Companies and individuals also can qualify to become an honored donor with tax-deductible cash or in-kind donations.
The goal of the event is to raise awareness and launch actions to help restore the health of Maui coastal waters.
The event will feature educational booths, water-quality-testing lessons, reef surveys, a beach cleanup and, inside the restaurant banquet room, a More Fish in the Sea Film Festival.
