Michael Stillwater to perform concert

HAIKU - The Temple of Peace Healing Church will host devotional music master Michael Stillwater in a concert at 7 p.m. today.

Stillwater also will be a guest at the temple's 10 a.m. Sunday service.

KAHULUI - Pukalani Supernatural Ministries will hold special Island Awakening services with a visiting pastor today and tomorrow.

The services will be at 6:30 p.m. at the ministry, located at 312-C Alamaha St. in Kahului.

Eric Johnson will be the guest pastor. Johnson oversees Bethel Missions in Redding, Calif., and has been involved in international ministry for most of his life.

Luncheon to benefit global missions

KAHULUI - The Ala Lani United Methodist Church will hold a salad buffet luncheon at noon Saturday to benefit global missions of the United Methodist Women.

The all-you-can-eat buffet with a beverage costs $7. Entertainment will be provided by singer and pianist Angie Carr. She will have compact discs available for purchase.

Rummage and bake sale April 24

KULA - St. John's Episcopal Church will hold its annual spring rummage and bake sale April 24.

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the church parish hall, with coffee and baked goods on sale starting at 8:30 a.m. This year the sale will include a gift boutique.

National Day of Prayer event May 6

WAIKAPU - A National Day of Prayer event will be held from 7:30 to 9 a.m. May 6 at the Maui Tropical Plantation.

The event is being held in observance of the 59th annual National Day of Prayer.

Pre-sale tickets cost $20. The cost is $22 at the door.

Yom Hazikaron service set

KIHEI - The Jewish Congregation of Maui will observe Yom Hazikaron, Israeli Veterans Memorial Day, on Monday.

A service in memory of soldiers who died defending Israel will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a Yom Ha'atzma'ut celebration marking Israel's independence in May 1948. The celebration will include Israeli music, a falafel plate for $3, and folk dancing.

Mexican trip fundraiser Saturday.

WAILUKU - The G-Force ministry of Valley Isle Fellowship will hold a fundraiser from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday to help pay for youth delegates' travel to Mexico for a mission and tour.

The fundraiser includes rummage items, a teriyaki chicken lunch plate sale, baked goods, Spam musubi, costume jewelry and apple bananas.
