Earth Day celebrates its 40th anniversary today. Mana Foods in Paia and other businesses such as O'o Farm in Kula will mark this green holiday with special happenings.
"On Earth Day, we'll have chocolate demos with the Endangered Species brand," says Theresa Thielk, Mana's office manager. "We'll give 10 percent of the gross sales to conservation."
Mana Foods houses what is called the "Wall of Chocolate" near the front door, featuring pure cacao of the gourmet and organic kind from domestic and international sources.

Mana Foods will also feature discounts on Seventh Generation eco products today as well as selected local health and beauty vendor items.
Saturday, Mana Foods will also be jumping with demos and tastings all day by local farmers, growers and vendors during its normal hours from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Call 579-8078.
O'o Farm in upper Kula will be open to the public for free today only from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for tours on the hour. Bring questions, wear comfortable shoes and dress warmly. Coffee will be roasted fresh. Call 667-4341.
At Aina Gourmet Market at Honua Kai Resort & Spa, join Chef James McDonald for a free cooking demo utilizing all local ingredients today at 3 p.m. Eco-friendly specials will be offered throughout the day. Call 662-2832.
McDonald will also present a special O'o Farm menu at Pacific'o Restaurant in Lahaina this evening in addition to the regular menu. Call 667-4341.
