UH-MC auto tech program offers four vehicles for sale

KAHULUI - The University of Hawaii Maui College automotive program is selling four vehicles to raise funds for the program.

The four vehicles were donated to the Automotive Technology Program; the sale is by sealed bids.

The vehicles are:

1991 Chevy Cavalier, two-door convertible with an upset price of $600.

1994 Lincoln Continental, four-door sedan with an upset price of $600.

1999 Volkswagen Beetle, two-door hatchback with five-speed transmission; CD-AM/FM deck with remote; upset price $3,000.

1999 Ford Ranger Extra Cab, four-wheel drive, 4.0 liter engine, automatic transmission; towing package; bed liner; CD and cassette with AM/FM radio; upset price of $3,200.

Sealed bids may be submitted in writing with the vehicle, bid amount, name of bidder, address and telephone number. Bids may be mailed to Administrative Services Office, University of Hawaii Maui College, 310 W. Kaahumanu Ave., Kahului 96732-1617, or dropped off at the Administrative Services Office located at UH-MC, Hookipa Building.

The bids must be received by Friday at 11 a.m. By May 7, the highest bidder will be notified and must make payment by May 14 in order to pick up the vehicle. If payment is not received by May 14, the next highest bidder will be notified.

The payment must be made out to UHMC Automotive Tech.

The vehicles may be seen by appointment at University of Hawaii Maui College Automotive Technology Shop by calling Thomas Hussey at 984-3236. Sales are "as is" without warranty. The buyer will assume all costs for any repairs required after purchase, including tax and registration fees.

The final sale will be contingent on all paperwork.
