Special service to honor mothers

KAHULUI - Maui Evangelical Church will hold a special service honoring mothers at its 8 a.m. Sunday service.

The service will be followed by a fellowship brunch, and the church's men's group will share a special song. The church is at 256 Hina Ave.

Woman sponsored by group to speak

WAILUKU - A woman who was sponsored by the group Compassion International will be the guest speaker at Wailuku Door of Faith Church at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Michelle Tolentino grew up in the slums of Manila. Her family received help with food and education through Compassion International. Now, she is a graduate student at Wheaton College in Illinois.

Dedication services for children set

WAILUKU - Valley Isle Fellowship will celebrate Mother's Day on Sunday with a Baby and Child Dedication services at 8 and 9:45 a.m. in the Wailuku Elementary School cafeteria.

The services are for any child who has never been dedicated to the Lord. Parents who'd like their child dedicated should contact the church office at 244-0865 to provide the child's name for a certificate.

Other activities include worship music with the Praise Team, a presentation of "This Is My Life" by the Singing Ministry and a reading about mothers from the Drama Ministry. Pastor Bob Duffer will provide a message on "God's Plan for a Family."
