WAILUKU -- A Maui Police Department officer was arrested this week on a warrant charging him with drug offenses, police said.
Ryan Masada, 39, of Makawao, turned himself in Monday night at the Wailuku Police Station and was booked on the felony information warrant charging him with third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and possessing drug paraphernalia. He was released after posting $10,000 bail.
Police did not release details about the charges, although police records indicate the charges stem from an incident earlier this year.
Masada, a 17-year department veteran who had been working as a Wailuku patrol officer, has been reassigned in the department, according to a news release Friday.
