Division II state baseball tournament: St. Anthony’s season ends with loss to Hawaii Prep

WAIPAHU, Oahu --- St. Anthony High School took an early lead before allowing 10 runs in the third inning and losing 12-3 in six innings to Hawaii Prep on Saturday in the Wally Yonamine Foundation Division II State Baseball Tournament third-place game at Hans L'Orange Field.

The game was called due to the two-hour time limit.

Tyler Kalehuawehe and Jarret Stinger each went 2-for-3 with a stolen base for the Trojans (9-3), who led 2-0 entering the bottom of the third.

Stinger was named to the all-tournament team as a utility player after finishing the week 6-for-7 with three RBIs, 4 runs and a stole base. He also allowed three runs --- one earned -- a complete game as St. Anthony won its tournament opener against Konawaena.

The Trojans' Trevor Ventrua was an all-tournament outfield pick , going 5-for-8 with three RBIs and three runs. He also pitched 5 2/3 innings of relief Friday, allowing four runs --- two earned --- in 5 1/3 innnings.

Nathaniel Adams hit a two-run triple in the third for Ka Makani (12-4), and Jesse Alvord had a two-run double. Adams scored three runs.
