A man died after being struck by two vehicles Thursday night in Lahaina.
Lahaina resident Rene Humberto Quijada was on Honoapiilani Highway near Wahikuli Beach Park when he was hit, Maui Police announced.
Quijada walked into the path of a 2007 Suzuki sedan traveling south in the inner lane. After being struck by the Suzuki, he was hit again by a 2004 Cadilac sedan, which was traveling in the same lane. The crash occurred around 9 p.m.
Quijada was pronounced dead at Maui Memorial Medical Center.
The death is Maui County's eighth traffic fatality for 2010, compared to seven at the same time last year.
