Grab your thinking cap and head over to Martin Lawrence Galleries for a special appearance by "visual raconteur" Robert Deyber. The artist will be on Maui to show his newest works from 7 to 9 p.m. June 10 and 11 at Martin Lawrence Galleries in Lahaina.
Deyber's artwork is full of surprises. Every canvas reveals the artist's sense of humor, each painting a visual rendering of a clever turn on a common phrase. Like puzzles painted on canvas, his artwork is highly narrative in nature and his paintings convey an almost dreamlike quality.
Deyber will be doing special dedications and signing and autographing paintings, lithographs and books during his appearance. More than 21 new original paintings will be featured in the gallery with over 81 stone lithographs to choose from. There will also be some specials going on for this "Dog Daze" summer tour.

“Top Dog” by Robert Deyber
"It is always great fun to chat with collectors and I enjoy having the chance to personally dedicate purchased prints, paintings and books," says the artist.
Born and raised in Greenwich, Conn., Deyber began drawing at an early age. According to a release, art was a necessary means of escape from an otherwise difficult world, one in which he set his mind free to visit the most remote places - a wheat field in South Dakota, the dunes of the Gobi desert, the moons of Jupiter.
In 2001, Deyber was an airline executive when 9/11 happened. That's when he decided to get back to his art and follow his heart. While Deyber's career has taken him all over the world, he currently resides in Connecticut and is exclusively represented by Martin Lawrence Galleries. His work is collected by several celebrities including Tom Petty, Sheryl Crow, Roger Waters, Judge Judy and others, according to a release.
The gallery is located at 790 Front St. For details, visit www.martinlawrence.com.
