MAKAWAO - Memorial Day observances will be held at 9:30 a.m. today at Makawao Veterans Cemetery.
Gov. Linda Lingle has ordered state flags to be flown at half-staff at all state and county buildings from sunrise to noon in respect for those who sacrificed their lives for America, and at full-staff from noon until sunset as a symbol of the living nation.
Other observances around the state will include one at Schofield Barracks Post Cemetery on Oahu.
The Governor's Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe.
