KAANAPALI - Maui County and federal authorities suspended their searches this weekend for a woman reported missing Thursday while snorkeling off Kaanapali.

U.S. Coast Guard officials identified the missing snorkeler as Tina Fox, 54, of Colorado, who disappeared Thursday afternoon near Pu'u Keka'a, or Black Rock. An underwater search was done almost immediately after Fox was reported missing.

The Coast Guard suspended its search at 6 p.m. Saturday after covering approximately 1,500 miles in more than 50 hours, according to Petty Officer Angela Henderson.

The Maui Fire Department also assisted in the search and suspended its efforts Sunday afternoon after an aerial search by Air One found no trace of the woman Sunday morning.

The Air One search followed currents going in a northern direction from where the woman was last seen.
