Saddle up for the biggest rodeo events of the year. The 55th Annual Makawao Rodeo, presented by the Maui Roping Club at Oskie Rice Arena in Makawao, starts Thursday and continues through Sunday. The Bull Bash, a rodeo highlight, starts at 7 p.m. Friday. Then get up early to snag your spot along Baldwin and Makawao avenues for the free Makawao Fourth of July parade at 9 a.m. For information on the rodeo and admission prices, call the Maui Roping Club at 572-8102.

The 2010 Maui Invitational Music Festival's "Concert in the Park" featuring the Maui Community Band, Latitude 21 and Sheryl Renee starts at 5 p.m. Sunday on the Lahaina Library lawn. Admission is free.
The festival is also throwing a Fourth of July party at the former Oyster Bar at 744 Front St. in Lahaina from 2 p.m. Sunday to 1 a.m. Monday. Produced by the Arts Education for Children Group, the event features a rooftop view of fireworks, live and DJ music, dancing, food and more. Cover is $10.
