KAHULUI - An assistant financial aid officer at the University of Hawaii Maui College has been selected for the University of Hawaii Community Colleges Chancellor's Award for Outstanding Service.

Kilohana Miller is employed in the Student Affairs Department at the college.

Miller is described as willing to "go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that all students and community members have access to get into college and succeed."

The chancellor's award recognizes a faculty member of civil service or administrative, professional and technical employee for outstanding demonstrated work performance, service, leadership, and fostering of excellence in higher education.

According to a news release, Miller has shown great dependability and competence when presenting information and answering questions regarding financial aid, scholarships and any other financial assistance that students may want to know.

The award recipients at each of the University of Hawaii's community college campuses will be recognized for their achievements at the annual convocation ceremony in the fall at the UH-Manoa campus.

The ceremony is open to the public. For more information, visit: www.hawaii.edu/about/ awards.
