HAWAIIAN MUSIC MASTERS IN KIHEI

Multiple Grammy and Na Hoku award-winning musician George Kahumoku Jr. will host his Masters of Hawaiian Music show Friday and Saturday at Stella Blues Supper Club.

Joining George are acclaimed Hawaiian musician Richard Hoopii on ukulele, plus Garrett Probst on ukulele and Sterling Seaton on slack key.

Tickets for four-course dinner and show are $60. Dinner starts at 6 p.m., with the show at 7:30 p.m. Call 874-3779 for reservations.

MEAT AT THE SPAM JAM

Come join the free event for the whole family at the 2010 Maui Spam Jam, a celebration of Hawaii's favorite canned meat, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Maui Tropical Plantation. Spam recipes - including desserts - will vie for recognition from judge and star chef Sam Choy, among other judges, during the Spam Challenge. Music by Kolohe Kai, Na Palapalai, Sly Dog, Shawn Felipe and David Lee will provide a feast for the ears. And don't forget to stop by the keiki zone, food booths and beer garden. Entry is a requested donation of a canned good for The Maui Food Bank.

FLASHBACK TO '70s AND '80s

The Deja Vu 70s Nightclub Reunion Maui Style will get the dance floor going at the King Kamehameha Waikapu Ballroom from 8 p.m. to midnight. Asian Blend with Jay Molina, Pamela Petersen and Clay Mortensen will provide "live" '70s and '80s dance music, along with two of Maui's top nightclub bands from the '70s: The Fabulous Shamroks featuring Alan Pascua, and Purple Haze led by Martin Hill. KRISHNA DAS AT THE STUDIO

Krishna Das will lead kirtan chanting accompanied by Daniel Paul on tabla at 7 p.m. Sunday at The Studio Maui in Haiku. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 day of show. Preshow dinner entrees, raw desserts and beverages will be available.

BODY SLAM! MIXES THE ARTS

Described as a mosh pit of the visual, performance and literary arts, Maui Slam Poetry's second annual Body Slam! will be sure to offer a unique experience for audience members. The event will be held at 9 p.m. Thursday, July 29, at Casanova Italian Restaurant and Deli in Makawao. Guests must be 21 or older. There is a $5 cover charge.
