Alabama choir to perform Sunday
MAKAWAO - Makawao Union Church will host more than 50 members of the Sanctuary Choir of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church at a special worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The choir is visiting Hawaii to participate in the Baptist World Conference in Honolulu.
Under the direction of Robert Hatfield, the larger 200-voice Sanctuary Choir supports the weekly worship services of the 7,000-member Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Birmingham, Ala. Choir members have performed at the John F. Kennedy Center and in Beijing, China.

KEOKEA - Lay leader Jimmy Aarona will preach at the 3 p.m. service Sunday at historic Haleakala Church.
The retired Kula postmaster has been leading worship on the last Sunday of the month for a decade at the 19th-century church. The structure has no roof, but there's a tarped area inside the walls of the church located at the Cross Road intersection of Kula Highway.

KAHULUI - David Barton, president of Wall Builders, a national pro-family organization, will speak at Grace Bible Church from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday.

MAKAWAO - Po'okela Church will hold a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 31.
Items for sale will include household goods, plants and clothes. The church is located at 200 Olinda Road in Makawao.
