When Joe and Beverly Gannon took over SeaWatch in Wailea and turned it into Gannon's: A Pacific View Restaurant, it took time to work through all of the kinks to make everything right.
"It took us five months to hit our stride," says Beverly. "It was a big process. Now, I walk in every day and look at the view and the food and I'm so pleased! If you tried us before and didn't like it, do try us again. It's a whole other place."
These days, happy hour is happening from 3 to 7 p.m. daily in the Red Bar with drink specials, 50 percent off the lounge menu and live music.

Beverly and Joe Gannon hang out in their Red Bar at Gannon’s: A Pacific View Restaurant in Wailea. Come enjoy happy hour from 3 to 7 p.m. daily with discounted drinks, half off the menu and live music.
Thursdays Fulton Tashombe performs soft jazz, and Tuesdays Larry Golis plays contemporary Hawaiian music.
Savor crab, spinach and artichoke dip; a bowl of red chili; barbecue-chicken nachos; crispy-fried sausage with cheese ravioli; and trio of crabcake sliders topped with a tangy remoulade. The acclaimed chef even serves barbecue ribs she "stole" from Haili'imaile General Store.
Soak in the ambience that features lots of bamboo, marble, lava rock, local artwork and the color red, of course. Sip $2 domestic draft beers, $4 well drinks, and $5 wines by the glass.
In addition, breakfast and lunch are both served all day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays; and breakfast from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekends. Lunch items kick in at 10 a.m. weekends.
"So if you want lunch for breakfast," says Beverly, "you can have an Angus burger served on a pretzel bun, or a barbecue pork sandwich on a cheddar-cheese kaiser roll with jicama slaw."
"Real" breakfast items include a bowl of fresh berries, smoked salmon plate, Hawaiian sweet-bread French toast and a variety of eggs Benedicts and omelets.
Dinner is from 5:30 to 9:30 nightly and "must trys" include the haricot verts salad and the tandoori loin of lamb.
