Pilgrimage informational meeting set
WAIEHU - An informational meeting on a pilgrimage to Israel in March will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Door of Faith Church in Waiehu.
Pastor Barbara Tengan will lead the "Two Tours in One" group, which will leave Maui on March 8.
Usually it takes two standard tours to cover all of the Holy Land but, because Maui is so far from Israel, the tour will be extended to take in all the sights, an announcement said. The 14-day tour will be at a slow place, designed for seniors and to help them take in the sights and culture. It will include a day trip to Mount Sinai, and there will be a three-day extension trip to Rome.
Tengan will give lectures prior to the pilgrimage to help participants learn about the sites they will visit. The tour will include a bus and special guides.
Henry and Darlene Mataritta, former Maui residents now living in Jerusalem, also will assist the group.
For more information, call 244-1286.
