For Mauians who are still in the staycation mode, it's easy to board the Expedition Ferry to Lanai, where you'll find all manner of fun and new food promos and discounted room rates.
It's just a hop, skip and a 45-minute ride across Au'au Channel to Manele Small Boat Harbor, and Four Seasons Resort Lana'i at Manele Bay will whisk you in a cool shuttle to the resort.
"We've got some great kamaaina rates right now at both the Four Seasons Resort Lana'i at Manele Bay Hotel and the Four Seasons Resort Lana'i Lodge at Koele," says Michelle Edwards, public relations manager.

Food & Beverage Manager Henderson Gilo and server Imelda Reymundo will set up a feast for the eyes and the senses outside your room. Then they come back and present it course by course.
"The rates include 20 percent off all dining (excluding alcoholic beverages); golf at $85 per person, per round; and other discounts on horseback riding, spa services, sporting clays and island transportation. Just ask for rate code: kamaaina."
The newest thing cooking these days is the "Lana'i on your lanai" promotion, and it's like room service, but al fresco, and taken to a whole other level.
"Offering the utmost in privacy in your spacious room or suite, the Lana'i on your lanai program features a private server, a fun musical playlist as well as extensive gourmet menu," says Edwards.
"The experience is ideal for couples, small groups or families seeking an unforgettable dining experience."
If romance is what you have in mind, then the food and beverage team can bring rose petals, flower arrangements and scores of candles to set the mood.
"If it's your birthday, we'll arrange to bake a cake," says the hotel's Food & Beverage Manager Henderson Gilo. "Depending on the age of the person, we can set up balloons and other decorations."
Debuting this past June, the program is hugely successful. "The majority of the time, we are fully booked," says Gilo. "I have to bring staff from the other outlets to help out. We set it up and come back, course by course, to serve you."
Right now, starter choices include chilled shrimp with mango and avocado salad or heirloom tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella drizzled in balsamic syrup. Entree choices are grilled beef in cabernet sauce; roasted onaga with tropical fruit relish or chef's vegetarian tasting.
"If you have allergies, chef can prepare special foods. We can customize the menu any way you like."
Kamaaina rates are good through Dec. 22. For more information or reservations, call (800) 321-4666.
