Sports Spotlight students are selected by athletic officials from Maui County high schools and these profiles are compiled by the sports department of The Maui News. The Alexander & Baldwin Foundation makes a $200 donation in honor of each student athlete to their high school's athletic fund.

SPORTS LESSONS: "The greatest aspect about being an athlete is the ohana you create within your team. My cross country teammates are more than people I train with, they're my brothers and sisters. The memories we've made and are building are irreplaceable. They inspire me to get better and to push through the pain.''
