KAHUMOKU TO JAM AT FESTIVALS OF ALOHA

Grammy and Na Hoku award-winning artist George Kahumoku Jr. will perform songs from his new CD, "Practicing Aloha," during a Festivals of Aloha event from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Mala Wailea Restaurant in Wailea Marriott Resort & Spa. The event, "Practice Aloha," features poke demonstrations by celebrity chefs and free sampling with a Festivals of Aloha 2010 ribbon. COCO ROBICHEAUX SET TO KICK OFF FILM FEST

Coco Robicheaux will play at Kihei's Stella Blues during its Supper Club from 6 to 9 p.m. Dinner and show is $60; show-only is $30. DONNA DE LORY WILL MAKE HER MACC DEBUT

Donna De Lory, who has toured and recorded with Madonna for decades, will stop on Maui at 7 p.m. at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center's McCoy Studio Theater. MAUI SLAM POETRY TO 'SCHOOL' PARTICIPANTS

Maui Slam Poetry is calling all art freaks, band geeks, computer nerds, jocks, preps, thesbs and loners to the "Back to School Slam" at 9:30 p.m. at Casanova in Makawao. Featuring music by DJ Boomshot, improv visuals by Douglas DeBoer and live fashion sketching by Miranda Sarah Viegas, the 21-and-older event will be stacked with poetry, art and dancing. Sign up to perform poetry by 9:30 p.m.; a $100 cash prize will go to the winner. No props, costumes or music can accompany slam poetry performance. Cover is $5. GOMEGA WILL ROCK WAILUKU FIRST FRIDAY

What better way to celebrate Requests Music's 20-year anniversary than to have local band Gomega rock the stage at Wailuku's monthly block party? WILLIE K, PINKTOBER AT HARD ROCK CAFE
