Maui Jodoshu joint service Sunday

LAHAINA - The Kahului, Wailuku and Lahaina Jodo missions will hold their annual Maui Jodoshu joint service and fellowship gathering Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at Lahaina Jodo Mission.

The Rev. Shoryu Akiya of Kapaa Jodo Mission on Kauai will be the guest speaker.

A fellowship luncheon will follow at the mission's pavilion. For more information, call 661-4304.

Informational meeting on trip Sunday

WAILUKU - An informational meeting on a tour of Israel, Greece, Turkey and Egypt will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Wailuku Door of Faith Church.

The trip is scheduled for March 17 to April 7. The trip is open to anyone, not only church members.

Angel Tree project participants sought

WAILUKU - Churches are being encouraged to participate in an Angel Tree project with the Prison Ministry at Maui Community Correctional Center.

So far, more then 300 children of inmates are signed up to receive gifts from the Angel Tree, according to the center's chaplain, Pua Hashimoto.
