KANIKAPILA FEATURES HULA HONEYS SHOW IN WEST MAUI

The Hula Honeys will perform a free concert during Kanikapila with Poki from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Baldwin Home Museum lawn in Lahaina. Presented by the Lahaina Restoration Foundation, the show will be hosted by Braddah Poki of KPOA. COMEDY HUI TO TAKE STAGE AT MACC'S MCCOY THEATER

Maui's favorite funny folks, The Comedy Hui, will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center's McCoy Studio Theater. The monthly island improv show features fast-paced games, wacky characters and a few musicals. Similar to TV's "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" -?each performance is unique because the audience co-creates the show along with the cast and live band. 'EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES' OPENS AT PROARTS IN KIHEI

Professional Artists of the Pacific's fractured fairy tale adaptation of "The Emperor's New Clothes" opens at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the ProArts Playhouse in Azeka Shopping Center, 1280 South Kihei Road in Kihei. Doug Kendrick directs the story of the vain emperor of Boondoggle who squanders his people's money for some swanky duds. Two sly swindlers and one brave emperial employee cook up a plan to reveal the truth. The show runs to Oct. 31. Tickets are $15 for reserved seats, and $10 for floor seating. COMPLEXIONS BALLET SET FOR MACC CASTLE THEATER

Complexions contemporary ballet pushes the bounds of performance art with the dance troupe's unique fusion of methods, styles and cultures. The dancers will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Maui Arts & Cultural Center's Castle Theater. Tickets are $12, $28 and $35, plus applicable fees. TAIKO ENSEMBLE TO OFFER SHOWS IN KIHEI, LAHAINA

Kenny Endo, the artistic director of Taiko Center of the Pacific and leader of the Kenny Endo Taiko Ensemble, will lead the ensemble in two Maui performances at 10:30 a.m. at the Kihei Public Library, 35 Waimahaihai St., and at 3 p.m. at Lahaina Public Library, 680 Wharf St. In 1980, Endo studied several drumming styles during a decadelong creative odyssey in Japan. FOURTH ANNUAL S. MAUI CHILDREN & YOUTH FEST

The fourth annual South Maui Children & Youth Festival from 3 to 8 p.m. at Kenolio Recreation Complex in North Kihei will celebrate Maui's keiki and their families with a day of food, entertainment and activities. The free event includes performances by Kihei Youth Center's Chinese ribbon dancing group; Kaulike Pescaia; Kulewa; Maui Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido Center; Siasi Uesiliana Tau'ataina 'O Kihei Tongan Youth Group; and Pohaikealoha Hula Halau. Arts and crafts, games, informational booths and educational activities will be offered. Free prizes will go to keiki who complete the treasure hunt game, and the first 500 children will receive goodie bags. The event is organized by Sen. Roz Baker and the Kihei Youth Center. INAUGURAL BARKTOBERFEST IN W. MAUI TO BENEFIT MHS

The Maui Humane Society will hold its first Barktoberfest from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa in Kaanapali. Emceed by Shaggy, the inaugural event will feature live music by Hawaii's only oompah band, Lisa Owen & the Village Musicians; Paia's Haiku Hillbillys; and Jimmy Mac & the Kool Kats. Beer and gourmet German fare will be offered, along with a keiki tent, animal-related games, crafts and more. Advance ticket prices are $60 for adults, $30 for children (ages 5-12 years); Children 4 and younger are free. Sheraton special room rates are available.
