Typo on ‘Hawaii Five-0’ request jams up traffic

HONOLULU (AP) - A mistyped permit application for filming of the CBS TV show "Hawaii Five-0" led to a rush-hour traffic jam in East Honolulu.

"Hawaii Five-0" wanted to shoot from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, a request that state officials said would have been denied.

Instead, the application asked for a 10 a.m. to noon slot, said Georja Skinner, administrator for the state Creative Industries Division, which oversees the Hawaii Film Office.

The result was that filming lasted seven hours longer than what the state had approved for the area at Kalanianaole Highway and East Hind Drive.

Skinner says that in the future, the show's production team will have to send call sheets along with permit applications.
