The Green Banana Cafe in Paia is featuring the work of painter Rebecca Bramon with an exhibition of her work on display through January. Bramon's work is inspired by Pele and the tumultuous landscape of the volcano. Her paintings present "panoramic interpretations of the mystic volcano, and the nature, flora and fauna as it unfolds," according to a gallery release. The artist said she is influenced by Maui, which has spurred her work in style and subject matter. "The beauty here that surrounds me, in my own backyard, is a never-ending inspiration," Bramon said. "In my art I try to express the wonder that I find in nature." Her work has appeared at East Bank Gallery and Key West Art Center, and in private collections. For more information, call the cafe, located at 137 Hana Highway, at 579-9130.
