Wailuku's First Friday packs a night of fashion, food, film, music and other entertainment into walking distance. The popular Market Street block party this week from 6 to 8 p.m. features "Girls Downtown" where local-made fashion from Feisty Attire, BoxEleven and Jaisy Hanlon will be shown at the Historic Iao Theater. Participants will get limited Christmas coupons to Maui boutiques and "A Christmas Carol" at the theater. Get $5 color-change manicures or browse through the apparel and jewelry. A screening of "Hairspray" will follow. Donation is $12. Also at First Friday, see live performances by the Cocoland Band at the Main Street Promenade; Inna Vision at the Maui Thing stage; and Ikaika Blackburn at Wailuku Banyan Tree Park. Pono ... Do What is Right! store celebrates its grand opening. And a poetry slam kicks off at 8 p.m. at Gallerie Ha with a $20 prize for the winner.
