Maui Waena Intermediate School band teacher Scot Kiyonaga conducts his players Tuesday afternoon during a Christmas concert at Kahului Elementary School. The performance was a part of a big day for the Maui Waena musicians, who also gave shows at Lihikai and Pomaikai elementary schools and took part in a recital at Maui High School. Kiyonaga was recently named Maui District Teacher of the Year.
